How this started

Marcus Silva had worked construction and hauling around MetroWest for years when he bought a single truck and one container in 2014. He'd spent long enough on job sites to know exactly what went wrong with dumpsters: containers that turned up late or in the wrong size, prices that changed once the load crossed a scale, and out-of-town haulers who didn't know the MassDEP rules or which streets in Framingham needed a permit.

Twelve years on we run a fleet across Framingham and MetroWest, and the operating principle hasn't moved. Tell people the truth about what they need, protect the property, pull the permit when it's needed, know exactly where the debris goes, and charge the number that was quoted.

What we actually do differently

We know the routing and the permit. The City's Recycling Drop-Off Center is residents-only, bars commercial vehicles, and won't take construction and demolition materials, and Massachusetts bans asphalt, brick, concrete, metal, wood, mattresses, textiles and yard waste from disposal. So renovation and demolition debris has to go to a licensed, MassDEP-permitted C&D processing facility that sorts the banned materials. We already know that routing, run a tarped truck as the law requires, and pull the DPW right-of-way permit when a container has to sit on the street. On the day, that's the whole job.

We recommend smaller containers. This one surprises people. Dense material - tile, old plaster, concrete and the heavy New England hardpan - reaches a container's tonnage allowance while it still looks half empty. Recommending the 15 yard instead of the 20, or a dedicated 10 for the concrete, costs us revenue and saves the customer money. We do it anyway.

We're built for New England winters. The freeze-thaw winters tear up roofs, and roof tear-offs are constant work. After a hard winter, whole neighborhoods re-roof at once - we size a roofing container to the shingle weight and get it out fast, when the demand across MetroWest spikes.

One number, tarped loads. The flat rate covers delivery, the rental period, collection, any street permit, the compliant disposal and a stated tonnage allowance, with the overage rate quoted in the same breath. And every load leaves tarped and secured, as Massachusetts requires. No fuel surcharge, no environmental fee appearing on an invoice for the first time.

Why local knowledge matters here

Framingham is the largest community in MetroWest, a Middlesex County city on the Sudbury River along the Mass Pike and Route 9, that grew from a colonial town settled in 1700 into a mill and manufacturing center and became a city in 2018. That range splits the work several ways. New construction and additions - out toward Hopkinton and the growing edges - produce bulky, light debris that wants a larger container. Gut renovation of the older downtown and Saxonville homes gives up dense plaster-and-lath and layered flooring that wants a smaller one. Roof tear-offs need their own box. And nearly every job that moves earth hits the heavy New England hardpan.

Then there's the regulatory reality that shapes all of it: the MassDEP disposal bans, a drop-off center that refuses C&D and commercial vehicles, the DPW right-of-way permit for a street placement, the licensed C&D processing facilities that do take the load, and Massachusetts's covered-load requirement on every haul. A company that works the system every day knows all of it. We quote each job on what it actually is, and we'll explain the difference if you want to hear it.

• Marcus Silva — Owner & Founder. Years in local construction and hauling before starting the company. Still takes sizing calls, particularly on anything involving concrete, hardpan, old plaster-and-lath demolition or a tricky downtown placement.
• Jenna Doyle — Operations Manager. Runs the schedule, the swaps, the permits and the contractor and property-management accounts, and knows which runs across MetroWest a loaded truck can and can't make in a day. If you need a same-day swap, she's the one who makes it happen.
• Rob Pacheco — Lead Driver. Has been placing containers on Framingham driveways for years and sizes a load by eye better than most. If he says a 30 won't fit your lot, it won't.
• Ana Ribeiro — Customer Care Lead. First voice on the phone most mornings, and the person who will walk you through the permit question, what can and can't go in the container, and where the banned materials need to go.
